Postdoctoral researcher position to work on anaerobic digestion for methane production and further conversion into SAF

IMDEA Energy is opening a Postdoctoral Position for the Biotechnological Processes Unit to work on anaerobic digestion processes from organic residues (agri-food, MSW, etc.) for biogas production.
We are seeking a highly motivated candidate, capable of driving his/her own research project independently while actively collaborating with other members of the lab.
The requirements are as follows:
Tasks Description:
- Perform and optimize the anaerobic digestion process by tuning operational conditions
- Process upscaling from in bioreactor from 1L to 50L
- Analyze microbial communities involved in the process.
- Mathematical modelling of mass balances
- Communicate and disseminate research results through high-quality scientific channels including high impact scientific publications, presentation in congresses, etc.
- Writing project proposals to national and international calls related to the topic.
- Supervision of PhD, Master or undergraduate students.
Compulsory Requirements
- Ph.D. degree in biotechnology, chemical engineering, chemistry or related areas.
- Proven expertise on anaerobic digestion technology
Other merits to value:
- Experience in biogas production in different bioreactor configuration and scales
- Knowledge in microbial communities analysis
- Experienced in national and international research projects and collaborations.
- Strong publication record. Very good scientific writing skills, ability to write peer-reviewed papers independently
- Oral and written communication skills in English
- Adequacy of the candidate's training to the requested profile.
- Work experience related to the profile of the job position.
- Knowledge of English.
- Motivation for accomplishing high-quality research.
Remuneration: Between 38.000€ – 41.000€ Gross Salary per year, depending upon qualification and expertise.
*The contract includes all the benefits of the Spanish Public Health and Social Security System.
Duration of the contract: 1 year, possibility of annual renewals depending on performance
